Peek-a-boos and Missing Diapers

Our poor cat, Charley, was basking in the sun coming into the living room from our skylights. Dosing off for a nap was not an option for him as the tiny terror known as Hayden came into the room. Hayden loves his blankets and often finds it necessary to have every single one we own on the couch as he watches his “Baby” movie (Baby Einstein). So taking each blanket, he proceeds to pile them one by one on top of Charley. (As a side note, Hayden has gotten in the habit of calling his blankets “money”. Where he got that idea from is beyond me.) It’s quite entertaining to watch my son pick up each blanket and plop it on top of the other all while chanting “Money! Money! Money!” Once he has all the blankets on top of our poor kitty Hayden removes the blankets one by one until he reveals Charley and screams “Bit-a-boo” (Translation: “Peek-a-boo!”). I’m getting quite a kick out of this as Charley finally knows what it is like to be a mother. Hayden then takes one of the blankets and places it ever so gently, as gently as a two year old can, on top of Charley. He runs around in a circle asking “Where’s Charley? Where’s Charley?” and is then full of squeals and giggles as Charley wriggles his way out of the blanket and then screams “Bit-a-boo!” at the top of his lungs.

Repeat about 15 times and you get the idea of my morning. I sit here typing this while Hayden has been taking off his pants, and has now managed to come out of his diaper.
