As I sit here reflecting on the last several years of my life I grow increasingly grateful for the opportunity I had to listen to our dear prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, more times than I can possibly count. He was the first Prophet I really understood and paid attention to. I always enjoyed his charming wit while in the same breath he could get right down to business. He has provided this world with years of counsel and comfort and he will truly be missed. What a sad and glorious occasion this is. While we lose one great leader, we are given the opportunity to embrace another. He has some mighty shoes that need to be filled, but I am confident that whoever follows him will step up to the plate in an amazing way.
It is quite difficult to mourn a man who has spent literally almost a century in devoted service to his Lord and fellow man. He is reunited with his sweetheart and Savior. He was such a great man, and I can only imagine his welcome on the other side of the veil was just as amazing as he was.

Surprising news, to be sure, but a glorious occasion, as you said.
Thank you too for the wonderful picture of the prophet being the prophet!
