Mean Face

Pretty intense, don't you think?

And more cuteness for your viewing pleasure:

It's becoming comical

Really...when is enough enough? Every time something happens to us it gets more and more comical all we can manage to do is laugh.

Early afternoon this Friday we laid down for a quick nap before I had to go to work. It was storming pretty hard, and who doesn't love falling asleep to rain falling on the roof? At one point the car alarm went off and we thought nothing of it because the thunder has caused it to do that before. Mike turned it off and back to sleep we went.

I get out to the car on my way to work and found a tree limb laying on it. Our windshield is shattered and the driver's side mirror is dangling.

Sigh...what's next?

He Got In!!!

After quite the string of bad luck we finally got some good news today! Mike has been accepted to the Police Academy!!! He starts the end of the month and is scheduled to be through at the end of January! Hooray! He plans to start out as a bailiff while he finishes his degree in criminal justice. Once he finishes that he’ll be qualified to work for a larger agency. It’s going to be a busy few months since he’ll also be working at Dominos as a delivery driver. His hours will be long and grueling but it’s only for a short amount of time and it will be so worth it in the end!

Keep us in your prayer – we’re going to need all we can get!

Confessions of a Retail Drama Queen

Check out my new blog! It's about the gripes and greats of working in fashion. It may be a little blunt for some of my 'gentle readers'...but I think it's a good time!

All sorts of random-ness

I've not been the best blogger lately - but I have managed to snap a few pictures here and there.

I realize that posting this picture may provoke all kinds of wants and desires...too bad, ladies! He's taken!
Think this photo will come in useful in about 14 years?
And, yes...those are my panties.

We went up to Saint John's Town Center to look at the fish and turtles in the pond and they have this statue that Hayden just LOVES!

After we got home from the Town Center I realized that Daddy had my house key...so here we sat. And sat. And sat. Notice the overload of groceries...gotta love the coupon addiction!

And this one just speaks for itself. Awwwwwwwwwwww!

Jet Skiing!

A few months ago we attended the annual Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner and Auction and won at jet skiing trip! It was so nice because we don't have the opportunity right now to be able to do a lot of fun and expensive activities, but it was already paid for...so we decided to head out on June 28th in celebration of Mike's 30th birthday. YIPPIE!

We started out at a marina off of Beach Blvd. and rode down the Intracoastal Waterway about 15 miles. We passed some incredible homes that probably cost well over a million dollars. All of the landscaping was amazing...everything was so green! After we got through the residential areas we saw so many dolphins! It was so amazing! We really could not have asked for a better day.

It was so wonderful to be able to relax and take a break from "regular life".

Just some more fun in the sun!

Or cloudy evening...but we still had fun! It was Mike's birthday and since we're broke we decided to enjoy living in Florida.

My two favorite boys:

Not the most flattering picture...but it's us!

And fine - a picture of me, since I've been told that I don't post enough. There you go.

And another.

5 Years!

We had no idea. We had no clue what having a mortgage meant. How easy it is to get into debt. We were so naïve and blissfully unaware of what life was really all about. We were happy-go-lucky and very young…not prepared in the slightest for the road ahead. What on earth were we getting ourselves into?

We got ourselves into constant companionship. We got ourselves into one another’s arms when we had nothing else. We’ve laughed together, cried together and while life may not be easy…it’s totally worth it. We got ourselves in pretty deep. Deeply in love, that is.

Happy Five Years, Honey! I'm looking forward to many more!

A public thanks...

...to my friend Timi. She is seriously one of the greatest women I have ever had the privilege of interacting with. Whenever a friend, or anyone for that matter, is in need, she is the first to offer help. Today I had the opportunity to pick up a short shift at work and Mike needed to go job hunting. Timi was kind enough to keep Hayden for us even though her husband had worked the night shift and was sleeping all day. She had no other choice than to let them run around outside in the hot June sun. I’m so grateful for her in my life…she is a true woman of God and gives much more than she receives in return. If you are reading this, just know that I love you and am so thankful for you.

Best Buds
